Flameless Combustion

Flameless combustion is a process in which fuel and air are mixed and burned at temperatures below the visible flame threshold. This produces a uniform heat release, very low peak temperatures, and drastically reduces NOx emissions — all while maintaining high efficiency.

At the heart of the M10 microturbine is its rotor, capable of spinning at over 100,000 RPM. Unlike conventional designs, MITIS has developed a patented, ultra-compact architecture in which the generator, compressor, and turbine are all integrated into a single assembly — eliminating the need for mechanical couplings.

Gas foil bearings are self-lubricating, oil-free aerodynamic bearings that offer a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional hydrodynamic oil bearings. Turbomachines equipped with air bearings operate without lubrication systems, reducing maintenance requirements, lowering operating costs, and eliminating the risk of oil leaks or contamination.
